Update: New research published

Use and Safety of Viscum album L Applications in Cancer Patients With Preexisting Autoimmune Diseases: Findings From the Network Oncology Study: Li Oei et al. January 2019
This study looks at recorded adverse effects associated with mistletoe therapy when use for cancer patients with pre-existing autoimmune conditions. Its findings suggest that the use of mistletoe therapy in cancer patients with certain pre-existing autoimmune conditions is safe.

Mistletoe and Immunomodulation: Insights and Implications for Anticancer Therapies: Li Oei, Thronicke & Schad. April 2019
This reviews existing work on the potential pathways of action and impact of mistletoe therapy on the immune system. It concludes that mistletoe therapy may help new cancer treatments by lowering adverse effect and thus improving tolerability.
