Pigeons raise £2500

Online auction supports Mistletoe Therapy UK

A patient has raised money in support of Mistletoe Therapy UK in a rather unique way.

David McDougall, pictured right, a mistletoe patient of Camphill Wellbeing Trust in Aberdeen, presented Dr Stefan Geider, CWT Clinical Lead, with a cheque this February for an impressive £2500, raised through an online auction of racing pigeons.

David’s father, David McDougall Senior, has been successfully racing pigeons for over 50 years. With the help of Ian McKay, Kingswells, Aberdeen, who devoted a lot of time to the auction, along with contacts throughout the UK, the online auction involved over 24 lots of donated birds.

David Snr shares:

“I have been humbled by the quality of birds that have been donated by club mates and friends.

This is a charity that means a great deal to me as my eldest son has received mistletoe therapy and it has greatly improved his quality of life.”

With bids of up to £300, the ‘auction-goers’ together raised an amazing total of £2500 in support of David’s mistletoe therapy at Camphill Wellbeing Trust, Aberdeen.
